So I decided to try and write a little bit more often on this thing. I think it's possible that Alex might get a blog when he goes to Spain, so you'll have to look for updates and information regarding his possible blog!

So a review of the weekend....study...eat...talk to people and study again. Yeah I've got 2 tests next week, on that I had to study for a lot and the other I just have to get through the notes once or twice.

I miss riding. I know that last year I didn't get to ride at all during the actual semesters, but at least I did get to ride during breaks and such. It's the strangest thing not to go home to my lovely Juliet. I got at email from William woods university and I guess she's going well, they said they were going to also use her for a camp in the summer. Which I think is a camp for handicaped children, can you imagine Juliet with handicaped kids riding her? And interesting thought, she's very sweet on the ground but she does have some spunk to her.....Huntermark friends feel free to laugh at that idea, it amuses me also!

Next weekend is the Beta Sigma Psi house party in Ames! Yep, so I guess Alex and I have to figure out a costume in the next week...and ideas for cartoons? (That's the theme).
Well back to studying!!!
Bye

This is just a picture from last weekend...we went to a bonfire for a friend's birthday. (a little outside IC) Posted by Picasa

Pleasantly surpirsed....
Have you ever listened to a sond a hundred times (ok a little exagerated maybe) and never really thought what it was about. That happens to me sometimes when I listen to Jack Johnson's music. But today I acutally heard the words to one of his songs and I thought it was something people needed to hear, a sone that not just people needed to hear but one that I needed to hear also. So nothing big or profound, but a simple truth to share with you today..

So I'll post that at the end .....

On another note, I visited a friend (sunday school teacher) from my church today. He's in the hospital here at UIHC. I'm pretty tired now, so I can't express exactly all the ways visiting him worked on my heart...but it did in many ways. He's such a trooper over the many years of having a hard disease to live with, he's got a great heart. It's amazing how the very people you think would be the most bitter at the world can have the best outlook. All I can say is that we are so blessed to have health, and if the only thing that bogs your mind today is the everyday struggles of homework, or work, or something temporary...then be grateful that you don't have anything major to worry about.
Ok well I'm going to bed, enjoy the song...

"Look at those fancy clothes,
But these could keep us warm just like those.
And what about your soul? Is it cold?
Is it straight from the mold, and ready to be sold?

And cars and phones and diamond rings,
Bling, Bling, because those are only removable things.
And what about your mind? Does it shine?
Are there things that concern you, more than your time?

Gone, going.
Gone, everything.
Gone, don't give a damn.
Gone, be the birds, when they don't wanna sing.
Gone, people, all awkward with their things,
Gone.

Look at you, out to make a deal.
Your trying to be appleaing, but you lose your appeal.
And what about those shoes your in today?
They'll do no good, on the bridges you burnt along the way.

Any you're willing to sell, anything?
Gone, with your head.
Leave your footprints,
And we'll shame them with your words.
Gone, people, all careless and consumed, gone

Gone, gone, gone, everything.
Gone, don't give a damn.
Gone, be the birds, when they don't wanna sing.
Gone, people, awkward with their things, Gone.

Well it's been a while since I've written last. So I don't think I'll be that good at keeping up on this thing this year. I guess I'll write or post a picture for the majorly fun or exciting events in life, which seem to be few and far between here lately. But I'm not dissing the normal, every day life stuff, in face I've gained a new appriciation for being healthy. I had a lymph node biopsy 2 weeks ago, the results came back normal, but I was a little worried about it before hand (which might be an understatement).

Classes are going well. I like most of them, they keep me busy but I like the material. I don't think I could have any other major, nursing keeps me interested. I enjoy learning about diseases, which my pathophysiology class keeps me busy on that one. And it's nice to be in a group of 75 students in each class, and the same students in all my classes. This is the only year that I will have strictly nursing classes, and I've also heard from many stuents and teachers this year is the most challenging. Much to look forward to as time progresses. But I've been really trying to really be satisfied with each day, and making the most of every day. I praise God for being with my and guiding me thus far in life.

There might be a possibility of a summer mission trip in the future...spain, africa, we'll see. Spain is what I'm checking into first, and if I went there then I'd hopefully be able to work in the same town as Alex. (Yes, he's going to Spain to study abroad NEXT semester! Good for him, he'll have tons of fun and what a chance of a lifetime!) But if that Spain thing doesn't work out for missions, then I might check into Africa and doing a nursing mission trip. I would love to do that, I've been longing to go there for quite some time, so I guess time will tell. I sent a form in yesterday for Spain.....

Other than those minor updates...life is going just about the same as for any college student. I have a major addiction to chocolate right now and if I don't cut this bad habit beth as you know her to be might become quite a bit larger...so I don't think it's a good idea to have a whole box of mint meltaways in your dorm room! Yikes! But they sure are good....Thanks dad!

Well goodbye till later....
